HatchmatesPrivacy Policy
Hatchmates is a pet you raise with one other person. We keep only what that needs. We don't run ads, we don't use analytics or tracking SDKs, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.
What we store

| A username and password | To sign you in. Your password is handled by our sign-in provider (Firebase Authentication) and never seen by us. We don't ask for your email address, phone number or real name. |
| A display name | So your partner sees what to call you. |
| Your pair and pal | Which pair you belong to, your pal's name and state (growth, mood, love, bond level), care activity and its timestamps (feeds, pets, plays), your shared streak, items you own, how your room is decorated, and event progress. This is what keeps the pet in sync on both phones. |
| Letters and doodles | Messages travel through our servers only until your partner's phone picks them up. Delivered messages are then removed from the server and kept only on the two phones. Anything not picked up within 36 hours is deleted. |
Reminders ("your pal is hungry") are scheduled on your phone and need no data from us.
Where it's stored
Hatchmates runs on Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Google processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms. Like any server, it may log technical information such as IP addresses to operate and secure the service.
Who can see it
Your partner sees what you share in the pair: your display name, your care activity, your letters and doodles, and the pal and room. Nobody else can join your pair; it holds exactly two people, by invite code. We don't share your data with anyone except our service provider above, or where the law requires it.
Deleting your data
- Leave pair (Settings) removes you from the pair. Your partner keeps the pal. Your phone's mail archive is deleted.
- Delete account (Settings) permanently deletes your account and your data. If you were the last member of a pair, the pair and pal are deleted too.
- Or email hello@hyprcompany.com and we'll do it for you.
Children
Hatchmates is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has made an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, PIPEDA in Canada or US state laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app.
